About St. Joseph’s Nursery Intensive Care Unit

St. Joseph’s NICU cares for newborn infants throughout the Southwest and serves as the first home for nearly 800 premature babies each year. To ease the transition from hospital to home, the unit offers a parent room where parents and their babies can stay for 24 to 48 hours before being discharged. During that time, nurses assume a secondary role in which they help parents learn to care for their baby, administer medications, and become comfortable as their baby’s primary caregiver.

Donations for Loving Library’s St. Joseph’s Chapter will go to provide books for newborn patients in their NICU. The books donated will help parents bond with their babies and create new healthy habits for coping when patients go home. Together we will bring the gift of reading to all of these babies and families! You can contribute by purchasing books directly from the wishlist or by donating below:

Umeed

Umeed is 14 years old and is in 8th grade. He loves to read. He is excited to be a part of Loving Library so he can share the joy of reading and learning with others.
